I've always been fascinated by the attempts to explore the Tsangpo Gorge, starting with F M Bailey's book, No passport to Tibet which I picked up many years ago. When I read Ian Baker's The Heart of the World: A Journey to Tibet's Lost Paradiseabout his attempts to penetrate into the heart of the Tsangpo, I was equally enthralled. From Baker's book, I was lead to Peter Heller's story, Hell or High Water: Surviving Tibet's Tsangpo Riverof this expedition to kayak down the Tsangpo. I actually bought and watched this movie as a result of reading Heller's book, and after watching the movie, where there was no mention or inclusion of footage of Heller at all, I appreciated Heller's candour about the disagreements/conflict between himself and expedition organiser Scott Lundgren even more. That said, I enjoyed this movie tremendously. The extreme whitewater footage was simply awesome - my whitewater experience is pretty basic but even I could appreciate the sheer complexity and power of the Tsangpo that these guys faced. As another reviewer mentioned, the whitewater pushes the definition of extreme paddling to new limits. The setting for the movie is incredible - sheer gorges, Himalayan peaks, almost impenetratable terrain, the sheer brute force of the Tsangpo as it cuts its way between the peaks of the Himalaya and forces its way down to the Indian plains. The filming is excellent - the guys did a great job shooting this under such extreme conditions and it really captures the intensity of the experience and the challenges that the team faced. They also captured the challenges faced by the support party trekking down the sides of the gorge to support the kayakers. Having trekked and done a bit of basic climbing in the Himalaya's, I can truely appreciate what they faced and the film pretty much does it justice. The narration is pretty good overall, does a good job explainingg what the team is doing, what they face, how they handled it and how they felt. That said, Heller's book DOES come in handy in conjunction with this movie as it gives a much more detailed account of the support party's efforts than the film provides. It also provides a lot more description around the kayakers themselves, the preparations, the challenges the kayakers faced and what everyone went through than the film can convey. My recommendation is simply that this is a great extreme whitewater kayaking movie, well worth watching if you like this kind of thing, either as a participant or as an armchair adventurer. And Heller's book is a great accompaniment to the film.

An all star team of the best kayakers in the world tackle a portion of the great canyon of the Tsangpo river, in a very remote corner of Tibet. This canyon has been the focus of many legends, and the whitewater pushes the definition of extreme paddling to new limits. The narration could have been a bit better, but the cinematography is excellent, and I found the film very enjoyable. The setting is truly remarkable, and the film makers have provided a brilliant view from the comfort of our armchairs. Dancing on the Edge of an Endangered Planet

A lousy view of possibly the wildest, most beautiful, and most dangerous, remote places on Earth. There is no evidence of passion in this short film, which totally fails to give a sense of people or of place. Viewing the area on Google Earth and reading accounts of people who have tried the gorge are much more enlightening than this overpriced "little" video. I, however, do salute the guys for being there though.

I read about this expedition in Outside Magazine when it happened, but did not fully explore the tale until I stumbled across Peter Heller's "Hell or High Water" a year or two later. While the filmmakers brilliantly capture the awesome fury of the river and the incredible intensity of the kayakers' running it for the first time, it lacks the storyline needed to fully understand the history of the Tsangpo and the complexity of the planning and executing such a trip. That's where Heller's book comes in handy, even if it provides a far more detailed account of the ground party's trek through the gorge than it does about the kayakers plunge down the river. It is well known that Heller's ambitions were cut short by the expedition leader, Lundgren, who foolishly feared that a bestselling book would steal his thunder and thus kept Heller off the river and at an arm's length from the paddlers. While Heller has the maturity to discuss this conflict in his book (and agreed to share 10% of his book royalties w/ the kayakers), Lundgren simply omits Heller from the expedition film completely, a move which struck me -- having read the book -- as both petty and arrogant. By sabotaging Heller's efforts, Lundgren effectively chews off his own foot, minimizing what could have proven to be an incredible PR effort for the expedition and this video (case in point, after reading Krakauer's Into Thin Air, I was compelled to purchase Brashear's film Everest, even though the two are not directly related). Personally, I would never have bought this video had I not read Heller's book. Tis a shame when egos get in the way of shared success, as was the case in the telling of this tale. This could have been a great film AND and a great book. Instead, each is marginalized by the limited success of the other, thus relegating both to sidelines of adventure tales.

As an intermediate paddler, this vid caused my jaw to drop. Stunning scenery. Amazing logistics. Incredible paddlers. Fascinating. I watch it over and over again. Puts the Grand Canyon, Alsek, and Stikine to shame.

Another great DVD from Cackle TV :) Plenty of amazing expedition footage, and a variety of other great pieces on kayaking. I have all of the This is the Sea DVD's and cant wait for more to arrive. if your looking for more of the same, checkout "Pacific Horizons" and "Eastern Horizons"

Lots more good sea kayaking footage from around the world. This one is my favorite in the series so far. Plenty of footage of the trip around South Island - New Zealand and the Queen Charlotte islands in BC.

The problem with these paddles is that you cannot use the Wii motion plus with them. I purchased them to play the table tennis game on Wii Resort. There is a package that I ended up buying that has 2 paddles, 2 swords, bat and a golf club that is for the Wii Resort and allows attachment of the Wii motion plus.

The paddles themselves have a realistic weight and shape. However while using the paddle with the Wii controller one does not have easy access to the controls. I chose to use this paddle set with the game Rockstar Table Tennis Rockstar Presents Table Tennis and movements necessary to control your characters do not always mimic the actual movements you would make in a ping pong game. The product was attractive but alas, the paddles will remain in their box and not in use.

While these paddles are usable, they were packaged with the ping pong balls tightly pushed against them and that left indentations in the padded part of the paddle. You can not hit the ball correctly without a smooth paddle. After a week of being opened and used they still had the indentations in them.

Very nice paddles, good quality. should have a set with 4 and more balls. Otherwise, it is fine.

This game is lots of fun to play. It's portable so you can play anywhere, outdoors highly recommended. Great activity for picnics & camping.

This product is not at all as described. It is very short and for younger children. I purchased a swingball set (identical) a couple years back and it was much better. It had taller poles and a longer string for the ball. The base was also bigger so it had less tippage. I would not recommend this for kids over 10. My kids (young teenagers) have not gone near this since I bought it.

I thought this was going to be a full size tether ball set for older children. Quite small and really not tether ball at all. Children only seem mildly interested in short span of play....not like tether ball with full size ball

Great product that allows us to play SB on the tiled back yard in our apartment. Our 6 yr old is very happy!

I have this game, my children and I play it often especially when we go camping. I see the prices on Amazon from $41 to $89.99All Surface Swingball. Toys R Us has it for $29.99. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these balls. They are as good as most 3-star balls. They are quite fast through the air too. I would definitely recommend this to any beginner-intermediate skilled player.

well, I expected these ping pon balls to be better in quality. One was cracked, and a coupe were somewhat misshapen. The others were good.

I read the previous reviews of this vendor. I purchsed these to play a joke on a co-worker, so I could care less about the quality. I just wanted the product. Sadly, my very low expectations could not be met. They billed my credit card and I never got the product. Avoid this vendor.

I just received my 144 ping pong balls and couldn't be more happy! They are not very good for ping pong, but I bought them for beer pong and they work awesome! They are a little smaller than a normal ping pong ball, but the weight is almost the same. The are a little thicker than the average ping pong ball so it makes it harder for those drunkin idiots to dent them. They still bounce good and being almost impossible to dent will last a long time. So for everyone that gave the balls a bad review, QUIT TRYIN TO GET SOMETHIN FOR NOTHIN!!!! THESE BALLS ARE AWSOME!!!!!

If you need bulk ping pong balls, this s a great company to buy them from. Quick delivery. My problem is with Amazon. They advertized these balls with a toy Burp gun. Back in the 50's ping pong balls worked great, today's guns need a smaller special ball. Needless to say I have 144 ping pong balls that are too big and won't work. This company was kind enough to offer a refund but what I have to do to get it and the cost of shipping, I'm keeping them. They make cute Christmas tree decorations. :-)

These are okay and came promptly, but their bounce is a little flimsy and my cats prefer the heftier orange ones.

i used these balls for a project. they worked very well. they are not like regular ping pong balls and would not be good to play ping pong with. they are better for projects and beer pong. i love that they are unmarked.

The Gamecraft 2.0 mm paddle is phenomenol! When I saw this paddle my inner voice said to me "Dude, this paddle will make you invincible." I had entered the ping pong tournament at the local community center. I needed a new paddle to dominate. I WILL be Thor.. and this paddle will be my hammer. The current champ, 75 year old McDoogal, was going to be out for a hip replacement. It was my time to shine. With the Gamecraft 2.0 mm I will claim the throne. I ordered my paddle a couple weeks in advance. I needed to properly bond with the Gamecraft 2.0 mm. I wore it like a six shooter on my hip. Ready for action at the slightest challenge. For two weeks we slept together, ate together, did everything together. I talked to it. Sometimes it spoke back. I was very close to being ready. The only thing missing was the proper outfit to perfectly compliment my Gamecraft 2.o mm. This worked for me. I highly recommend it. - Red Air Jordan shoes (Michael Jordan was a champion) - Speedo swim trunks by Michael Phelps (swim champion) - Head band by Richard Simmons (Jazzersize expert) - Green Celtics Jersey (NBA champions) Dude... I looked so good. Jaws dropped when I entered the community center. To increase my intimidation factor I wore my authentic Tom Cruise Top Gun sunglasses. Oh yeah! Bow down you mortals. I was a Jedi Master... with the Gamecraft 2.0 mm for a light sabre. There were comments on my outfit but I just brushed them off. They were just jealous they hadn't thought of it. A little tip: Before the tournament begins go over to the basket of balls and speak to them. Let your Gamecraft 2.0 mm speak to them. Come to an understanding. Feel the balls. Be the balls. Great paddles for casual game play. Well worth the money if you're not playing competitively.

Wish I had read the description more closely than relying on photo. I thought this was a smooth surfaced paddle. Description clearly indicates the pips out face, but I ordered with only looking at photo :(

I would definitely recommend these for rec rooms and amateur tournament's. Great spin, sturdy, and cheap.

I used this item on my cat and she went nuts! I never thought it'd happen, but she loved the rubber padding. A+!!!
